Monday's Guest Post: How to Test PCRF before Deployment

A new guest post will be published on Monday. In his article, "PCRF Test Methodology", my 13th guest, Don Wuerfel, will take a closer look at the benefits of using multiple test methodologies to qualify a Policy and Charging Rule Function (PCRF) or other Network Element (NE) prior to deployment. The article focuses on the value of isolation testing of the PCRF and how it can create scenarios that are otherwise difficult to create in an end-to-end testing environment.

"Using an emulation server to test a NE is the best method of characterizing the performance and reliability of a single node. By directly connecting the Emulation Server to the System Under Test (SUT) you gain considerable cost benefits for large scale performance testing, the precise control to introduce many different scenarios, and simplified root cause analysis" says Don.

Stay tuned.
